What happens when training ends—and real combat begins?
In ROOM 13: A Fighter Pilot’s Story, Colonel Kenneth Gilmore delivers a gripping, firsthand account of life as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam/Laos conflict, where survival was never guaranteed—and every mission could be your last.

This powerful military memoir traces Gilmore’s extraordinary journey from a college football coach to an elite U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, flying some of the most iconic aircraft of the era, including the F-102, F-101, A-1 Skyraider, and F-106.

But nothing could prepare him for the brutal reality of war.

✈️ 220 Combat Missions. One Life-Changing Experience.
Assigned to fly the A-1 Skyraider—an aircraft with one of the highest loss rates of the Vietnam War—Gilmore quickly learned that traditional training fell short in the face of enemy fire.

After being shot down during mission 130, he survived hours on the ground before rescue—an experience that would forever shape his life, leadership, and understanding of war.

🔥 The Seven Rules That Meant Survival
In the chaos of combat, Gilmore and a fellow pilot developed seven essential rules for survival—lessons forged under extreme pressure and life-or-death conditions.

These principles became the foundation of his leadership when he later returned to command and mentor fellow fighter pilots as an Operations Officer.

🎖️ A Story of Courage, Leadership, and Sacrifice
Over the course of his career, Gilmore flew 220 combat missions and earned numerous honors, including three Distinguished Flying Crosses for heroism. His rapid rise through the ranks to Colonel reflects both his skill and leadership—but also came at a cost, pulling him away from the cockpit he loved.

Review

Room 13: A Fighter Pilot's Story is more than just a military memoir, it's a story about determination

. Kenneth Gilmore writes in a way that feels conversational, making it easy to connect with both the exciting experiences and the quieter, reflective moments.

I appreciated that the book didn't rely on nonstop action to keep my attention. Instead, it paints a complete picture of the life of a fighter pilot.

Biographical Fiction

Date Published: March 26, 2026

Voyagers: Homeland to Heartland is a sweeping, multi-generational saga inspired by true family history, tracing a Norwegian immigrant family's journey from the rugged valleys of Norway to the windswept prairies of Nebraska.

Rooted in the author's own heritage, the story follows Kittil and Marte Dyrebu as they leave behind everything familiar-family, language, and homeland-to chase the promise of opportunity in America. Their passage across the Atlantic is only the beginning. Told through richly detailed vignettes, Voyagers weaves together the lives of parents and children, siblings and spouses, revealing how love, faith, and tradition are carried forward even as circumstances change. From intimate moments around a family table to life altering crossroads shaped by duty, sacrifice, and longing, each generation faces its own tests-yet remains bound by shared memory and resilience.

At its core, Voyagers is a tribute to storytelling itself: the way stories preserve identity, heal grief, and connect past to present. It is a novel for anyone drawn to historical fiction, immigrant journeys, and the enduring power of family legacy.

Memoir / Biography

Date Published: October 17, 2025

Publisher: ‎ MindStir Media

Nearly three decades in the skies have given Veronica Brown a front-row seat to the world — and to the realities of being a Black woman navigating corporate aviation.

INDISPUTABLE – An African-American Flight Attendant Experience is an inspiring and unflinching memoir that blends personal stories, cultural insight, and historical context, shedding light on both the challenges and triumphs of African-American flight attendants.

From early struggles for representation to moments of spiritual awakening, INDISPUTABLE offers a powerful reminder that visibility, purpose, and faith can transform the course of a life — and an industry.

About the Author

Veronica Brown is a singer, author, and retired flight attendant whose professional career spans nearly five decades — from the stage to the skies.

A Detroit native, Veronica received the Key to the City of Detroit for her work performing for U.S. troops around the world on USO/DOD tours, where she uplifted service members through music and ministry. She was later recognized by the Detroit City Council for her contribution to the reelection campaign of Mayor Coleman A. Young and her participation in the City of Detroit television ad “Power for Tomorrow,” where she performed alongside music legends Aretha Franklin and Levi Stubbs of The Four Tops.

Her artistic journey gained attention across parts of Europe with her debut album “That’s Just The Way It Is”, featuring the hit singles “Last 2 Know” and “Words That You Say”, and an appearance on a compilation album alongside Michael McDonald and other renowned artists. After years of performing across Europe, Asia, Israel, and Africa, Veronica transitioned into aviation — a career that would span nearly three decades across major U.S. airlines.

Her memoir INDISPUTABLE – An African-American Flight Attendant Experience chronicles that extraordinary journey, offering an insider’s look at life in the airline industry through the lens of faith, perseverance, and representation.
Today, Veronica is the Founder and CEO of Flight Ready Academy, an online educational platform designed to prepare the next generation of diverse flight attendants to soar with confidence and purpose, while continuing to pursue her faith-based music ministry, most recently with her single “MOVE,” which appeared on multiple Gospel charts in the U.S. and abroad.

✈️ Additional Works by Veronica Brown
• God’s Big Ten: A Guide to Living Right — A children’s book introducing young readers to the Ten Commandments through faith-based storytelling.
• Kingdom Wealth: A Scripture Guide to Financial Blessings — A devotional offering 30 days of scripture, reflection, and prayer on faith and financial stewardship.

Both books reflect Veronica’s continuing mission to inspire readers through faith, empowerment, and divine purpose.

Unveiling One of the Great Composers of the 20th Century

Biography
Date Published: October 28, 2025
Publisher: Peanut Butter Publishing

In the year 2000, after Alan’s death, Hinako Fujihara-Hovhaness started writing poems, which was the only way she could cope with her great loss. They were written with her limited English, yet they were spontaneous and poignant, straight from her heart. After she had written hundreds of poems, it was not enough. Hinako started writing stories from my memories about Alan, events she had experienced with him.

To Hinako, “Alan was a master of counterpoint and an intellectual, yet he had many different sides to his personality, from being a polite, distinguished gentleman to a wild savage, idealistic, and old-fashioned man to sexy womanizer. He understood human nature and emotion, and I think that is why his music touches people’s hearts and is loved by them, even though his music is built on an intellectual foundation”.

Review

The word that comes to mind after reading this is passion. Alan Hovhaness's passion for his work, but also the passion Hinako had for his life's work as well.

The complete devotion to bringing his life and work back to life through this biography does not go unnoticed. She does an amazing job of sharing so much more than you think you will get.

Throughout this, you are taken through so many facets of his life that made him who he was and allowed him to connect to his fans.

Excerpt

Prologue

Buddy Brown knew it.

He had seen it.

It was the vision of what he might look like if he became “Mega Rich.”

His 15-year-old cousin and her boyfriend had driven from Minneapolis to his home in Pillager, Minnesota, and 13-year-old Buddy Brown was mesmerized by their red customized conversion van. It had captain’s chairs, teardrop windows, and a bed in the back. Visualizing what he would do with his vehicle (when the time came) was no problem. He would go to the Ford dealer and ask them to modify a Ford Econoline van into a four-wheel-drive unit. Although the manufacturer had not yet produced a four-wheel-drive van, he knew they had already done it with the F-150 pickup, so adapting a van should be no problem. He would be wealthy enough to pay for the changes.

In addition to the chairs, windows, and bed, customized elements inside would include carpeting along the sides and an upholstered ceiling with tiny colored lights poking through, creating a mysterious mood. The cell phone had not yet been invented in 1973, but Buddy had a concept that a mobile phone could be placed inside a vehicle. His mind excelled at invention, mechanics, and mathematics.

Once he purchased the van, he would drive it to his parents’ home during the night and park it in front of the picture window.

When they awoke and looked outside, they would see that Buddy had made it. He was “Mega Rich.”

Holocaust Biography

Date Published: December 10, 2024

Publisher: Book Publishers USA

This narrative gives us a detailed chronicle of the turbulent life of Rebbe Aryeh Leibish Gottesman Zt”l. Beginning from his childhood years, with the next chapters bringing alive the years of pain he endured in the most horrendous period of the holocaust. Following the highly interesting period detailing his formative years in America, that gives us a glimpse of the post-trauma that a war survivor lived with. His scars and pain and loss that accompanied him for the next seventy years

When he was still but a child and a young bochur, little Leibish fought ferociously against life’s odds to learn Torah in times that antisemitism was common in the little town in Czech where he lived. After suffering all the horrors of Auschwitz, Dachau, and more, when he lost both his parents and family, except for one surviving brother. R’ Leibish threw upon himself again with happiness and fortitude to accept the yoke of learning Torah. First in the city of Serdaheli and then in the famed Nitra Yeshiva in America, where he became one of the most notable and close students of the renowned Torah giant and distinguished war activist Hagaon Hatzaddik Rebbe Michoel Ber Weissmandel ZT”L. He stood out in the front line of Talmudei Chachomim of the first generation after the war.

The next step in life was when with his diligence and persistence he grew to be a major Gaon that illuminated the path for many many students and breathed a life of Torah up to his final moment.

Review

I liked the way that this was organized. We get his story of resilience that really inspires, but we also get stories from the others in his family.

It's a holocaust book, and we get that, but we also get the after. The rebuild, the looking for safety, the unknown. It's a powerful read.
